Position Summary:

The position of Program Instructor (Hourly) of Science for Middle and/or High School means an overall commitment to the policies and procedures of the New Jersey GEAR UP/College Bound program. Acceptance of this position carries certain specific responsibilities in addition to those outlined in the general job description. The program operates year-round during the Academic Year (fall and spring) and Summer Sessions (July-Mid August). Fall and Spring Sessions are Monday thru Thursday (Occasional Fridays) from 8:00 am until 2:00pm and/or 3:00pm until 5:00pm. Saturday Sessions are 20 sessions during the Academic Year from 8:00 am to 3:00 p.m. Note: Academic Year weekday school hours are adjusted as needed per school. Summer Session is currently up to six (6) weeks, Monday thru Thursday, from 8:30am until 3:00 pm with occasional Saturday events.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

Certification for core subject areas of Science. Experience with minority and disadvantaged student is helpful.

Preferred Qualifications:

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted, where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, and equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
