Direct Support Professional

Precious Home Healthcare LLC is seeking full-time and part-time Direct Support Professionals to join our team providing care for patients in their homes. Direct Support Professionals provide care for individuals experiencing developmental disabilities or illnesses by creating a safe, positive, and encouraging atmosphere for them. Work hours may vary based on the needs of the assigned patients, and nights, weekends, and holidays may be worked as assigned.

Direct Support Professionals have the opportunity to help individuals complete personal care and basic housekeeping tasks, transport patients to appointments or other social outings in community, and keep patients safe from potential health hazards in their surrounding environment. They work closely with the patient to enhance their decision-making skills and encourage them to engage in more activities that will help strengthen their physical and mental health. Direct Support Professionals often teach patients how to complete certain tasks on their own to promote a more independent and satisfying lifestyle. In addition, this role is responsible for:

• Helping plan client appointments and organize a schedule
• Organizing with transportation arrangements to appointments
• Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs
• Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities

To be qualified for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Given the nature of this role, integrity, trustworthiness, dependability, and compassion are required. Because you will be providing services to patients in their homes and helping to transport them, reliable transportation and proof of insurance is required. Some patients may need support turning or being repositioned, so this position does require a level of physical activity including heavy lifting, extensive bending, and standing.

All applicants must be able to pass a BCI background check and two-step PPD Tuberculosis test at the applicant's expense. Proof of CPR certification is required.
