Waltonen Engineering is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team. Responsibilities

  • Produce machined parts by setting up, and operating a mill and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machine
  • Plan machining by studying work orders and blueprints
  • Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and/or work material
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
  • Develop instructions for CNC Technicians
  • Review 3D CAD design
  • Determine steps for programming including where materials should be cut
  • Convert instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
  • Determine job order and perform associated calculations
  • Compose programs and revise existing ones for increased efficiency

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience with CNC machining and programming
  • Experience running Tarus 3+2 preferred
  • Programming experience required preferably in WorkNC
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controllers

Preferred

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team!

Responsibilities

+ Report to the Independence Tooling Operations Manager and receive direction from the CNC Leader.

+ Operate mills and CNC machines to fabricate precise components.

+ Strategize machining operations based on specific work orders and detailed blueprints.

+ Accurately set up mills, ensuring proper alignment of vices and materials for efficient machining.

+ Comply with all safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

+ Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery.

+ Maintain thorough documentation to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.

+ Analyze 3D CAD designs to outline programming sequences and material cutting paths.

+ Translate machining instructions into CAM programs.

+ Execute job orders and perform necessary calculations.

+ Innovate and optimize programming for enhanced operational efficiency.

+ Expertly program 3-Axis, 3+2 Axis, and 5 Axis machines using WorkNC software.

Qualifications

+ Proven expertise in CNC machining and programming.

+ Proficiency in operating and programming 3 Axis, 3+2 Axis, and 5 Axis Machines.

+ Mandatory experience with WorkNC Programming.

+ Knowledge of Fanuc controllers.

+ Flexibility to work additional hours when required and manage varying work volumes.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Industry experience in aerospace, automotive, or defense sectors.

+ Competence in Microsoft Office suite.

+ Experience operating a variety of machinery including:

+ Devlieg Boring Mill

+ Chevaliers with Fanuc controls

+ Tarus with Tarus controls

+ DN with Fanuc controls

+ Haas with Haas controls

+ Hermle with Heidenhaim controls
