We are a dynamic and independent child care center in Edison, NJ. We utilize a standards driven, year-round curriculum that is designed by professional child care educators.

We are seeking a highly motivated, career-orientated Certified Preschool Teacher with strong parent communication skills, a collaborative, team-building approach to staff leadership and knowledge of the industry

A New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate P-3, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) Preschool through Grade 3 is required to be considered for this position

Responsibilities The Daycare Lead Teacher assists overseeing the day to day operations of the center while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the educational development, safety and welfare of the children and staff.

  • Supervision of staff members
  • Works to ensure compliance of state/district regulations
  • Maintaining the facility for "Tour Ready" standards
  • Conducting tours of the center
  • Maintaining accurate records of both staff and children.
  • Designate teachers and primary caregivers as required by State regulations
  • Maintaining social media eg Facebook
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations
  • Prepare lesson plans and reports on students and activities as required by the administration

Qualifications The Lead Teacher must comply with minimum standards, as set forth by current company policies and government and state regulations.

  • Possess a Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree (in a child related field is a plus) or equivalent Child Care or Management experience.
  • NJ P-3; CE; or CEAS is Required
  • CDA is a plus.
  • 2-3 years' of work experience in a childcare/school district program.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of general business procedures.
  • Ability to communicate company policies and procedures in a firm and clear manner to staff and parents.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Possess skills, attributes and characteristics conducive to and suitable for dealing with children, parents, coworkers, clients and management.
  • Satisfy the mandatory physical and background checks as required by the State and company regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to post social media posts
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
  • Work well under pressure
  • The position is full time and reports to the academy director. Hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday. This is a 10 months contract. Follows the School District calendar.
