Job Description

Job Description

Friendly neighborhood salon looking to add a stylist.

If we learned anything from a pandemic it is that the people we surround ourselves with are integral to our happiness and personal growth. Our industry is unique. It is a privilege that our JOB is to touch the lives of our clients. We also think it’s important to work in a place that offers camaraderie and collaboration. Our team prides itself on working well together, and we believe as stylists our greatest intangible value is in our ability to connect with people.

We are always looking for like-minded people to join our team, and would really love to add another hair stylist.

What we can offer:

  • Beautiful location with loft height ceilings, lots of natural light and exposed original brick walls.
  • Career business-building coaching, goal setting and support
  • Education is a priority for us. We have regular in-house classes and a education points program that helps stylist pay for trainings and classes.
  • We are a low drama salon. We all genuinely respect each other and enjoy working together.
  • We treat people like grownups. You will get a bit of autonomy, a bit of structure and a lot of support from all the team members.
  • Flexible schedule. We just ask that you can commit to a minimum of 3 days per week, one of those including Saturdays.
  • Benefits include Paid Time Off, Education Points Program, generous product & service discounts. (Eligibility after introductory period)
  • Compensation is hourly or commission (whichever is higher) plus tips. As your sales grow, so does your commission rate, and therefore your take-home pay. Commission starts at 40% with NO Backbar fees. Calculating your pay should be simple. We never intend to confuse or hide what you make. Everyone working here right now consistently hits commission every payroll.

What we’re hoping to find in you:

  • Hairstylist with at least 3 years behind the chair. There’s also room here for well-rounded artists who are multi-licensed or like doing other services (like lashes, waxing, nails).
  • Some existing clientele always a plus.
  • Proficiency in Blonding Services (or willing to learn! We have a great education director on staff who can help)
  • You consider yourself a professional in a fun industry.
  • You’re known for being reliable and timely.
  • Value personal growth and education
  • Must be passionate about hair, have a helpful nature, and a friendly disposition.
  • Active Washington State Cosmetology or Hair Design license

If any of this interests you, please reach out. I love talking to other artists in our industry and at least we can explore if we might be a good fit.

---> If you’re brand new to hair and want to explore what it might look like to start your career here...

---> Or someone who is starting to feel burned out at your current salon, but afraid a job change might not be worth the freedom and comfort you get in a known environment...

---> Or someone who left the industry, and wants to come back...

---> Or a leaser who wants to work with or around people again without being micromanaged or taken for granted...

I'd love to hear from you.
