The ICU Nurse - RN at Frankfort Regional Medical Center provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient and in support of the Mission, Vision, and Philosophy of Nursing.   • Must hold a current license from the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
  • BLS required upon hire.
  • ACLS within six months of hire.
  • TNCC or similar trauma course designed for Inpatient within 2 years of hire.

Preferred

  • CCRN within 1 year of eligibility.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Registered nurses provide and coordinate care for patients. The Registered nurse is responsible for collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Daily responsibilities of the Registered nurse include but are not limited to: assessments and reassessments, developing individualized plans of care, medication administration, documentation, education, proper maintenance of equipment, and communication of patient needs.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • You will provide respiratory, ventilator management, and monitoring for patients.
  • You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • You will assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of your healthcare team.

What qualifications you will need:

  • RN licensure by KY Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
  • Associate's degree; Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • BLS required, and must be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Must obtain ACLS within 6 Months of hire or transfer from non-ICU area
  • At least one-year clinical nursing preferred
  • No Travel Required
