Qualifications

Required

  • Vet Tech or Assistant with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of general administrative practices.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience working in a vet office for at least 1 year.
  • At least 2 years experience in reception position.

Preferred

Padonia Veterinary Hospital is a fast paced 2 doctor animal practice located in Cockeysville, MD. We are a busy hospital. We pride ourselves on having great relationships with our clientele. Individual client and patient care is a priority. A tech that focuses on this would be a welcome addition to our team. The expected manner of every team member is to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, use appropriate medical terminology and support all members of the hospital's ownership and fellow team members.

Duties Expected of the Tech:

Requirements: Vet Tech or Assistant with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.

Receptionist:

This position is one of the most important in the office. It involves daily and constant work with our clients, making them feel welcome and comfortable. A love of all people and animals is a must for this job! You will also be the primary person to handle the phones and schedule patient appointments. You will greet them when they arrive as well as check them out when they leave. Positive energy in everything you do is a must.

It is also important that you are comfortable with multi-tasking and navigating your way through software. This position involves data entry and word-processing on a daily basis. If using a computer scares you, or multi-tasking is not your strength, this isn't the right fit.

You are an integral part of the communication between client and veterinarian.

Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and welcoming clients and patients to the practice.

  • Scheduling appointments as needed.

  • Preparing patients’ charts.

  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders.

  • Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.

  • Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing and faxing.

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital in all areas.

  • All other duties as assigned

Receptionist Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
