Responsibilities
- Machine complex high precision parts for equipment repairs
- Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments, such as micrometers or gauges
- Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
- Evaluate procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow directed safety procedures
- Perform mechanical work as required, such as assembly and disassembly
- Manage and organize own work while remaining a team player and handling other assigned tasks as required by the company
- Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in a manufacturing machining environment preferred
- Experienced with measuring tools
- Experienced with close tolerances, blueprint readings, and metric measurements
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to follow specific written instructions and procedures
- Exceptional organization and attention to details
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Working knowledge of basic mathematical skills
- Willingness to learn with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Continually exhibit the qualities of trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude
- Regular, consistent attendance is a requirement. Overtime as required by the company
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods of time
- A minimum of 1 year using manual machining equipment preferred
