The DC Seasonal Driver at The Children's Place is responsible for driving gas powered yard trucks or electric powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as forklifts, swing reach, clamps, elevating platforms to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.   • Pulls orders
  • Scans merchandise and locations using RF technology
  • Puts away merchandise to appropriate locations verified by the RF scanner
  • Operates equipment using The Children's Place and Cal OSHA safety standards
  • Completes equipment checklist before and after each use to verify condition of machine
  • Immediately reports any problems with the machines to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Moves trailers to their designated area

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to use hands while controlling equipment; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Ability to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and to write correspondence
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Supervisor
  • Minimum of three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Basic PC skills

**Job Summary:**

Drives gas powered yard truck or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, swing reach, clamps, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.

**Relevant Experience/Requirements**

+ Regularly required to use hands while controlling equipment; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

+ Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

+ Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and to write correspondence

+ Basic math skills are required, such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

+ Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions and the ability to effectively communicate with Supervisor

+ A minimum of three to six months related experience and/or training

+ Basic PC skills are required

+ All equipment operators must be trained and certified by The Children's Place. Each equipment operator will be responsible for passing a written and behind-the-wheel examination with a minimum score of 70%
