Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other Health Services clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Stabilize care in emergency situations while awaiting patient transport to a higher level of care.
  • Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered at UTA Health Services.
  • Follow up on referrals as appropriate.
  • Review incoming diagnostic test reports and medical records, follow up as appropriate.
  • Complete and sign patient charts on the day of care unless specific circumstances preclude timely completion.
  • Comply with Health Services infection control plan.
  • Participate in peer review activities and assigned committee meetings.
  • Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice.
  • Maintain a current, unrestricted Texas nursing license.
  • Complete continuing medical education hours annually as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • National certification in advanced practice nursing or equivalent relevant experience
  • Current BLS Certification
  • At least five years of experience as an advanced practice nurse
  • Experience in College health
  • Experience with adolescent or young adult population
  • DEA license

Provide comprehensive primary care services including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to students eligible for services at UT Arlington Health Services. Work collaboratively with other Health Services clinical and non-clinical staff to achieve the organizationand#x2019;s mission to support academic success by providing excellent health care and promoting wellness. Comply with all UT System and UTA policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations..Provide comprehensive primary care for eligible patients as well as stabilizing care in emergency situations while awaiting patient transport to a higher level of care.Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered at UTA Health Services Follow up on referrals as appropriate.Review incoming diagnostic test reports and medical records, follow up as appropriate and acknowledge review in the EMR in a timely manner.Complete and sign patient charts on the day of care unless specific circumstances preclude timely completion.Comply with Health Servicesand#x2019; infection control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions and appropriate PPE. Ensure compliance by other staff.Participate in peer review activities, and assigned committee meeting including providers committee and possibly risk management and quality improvement, etc.Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice.Maintain a current, unrestricted Texas nursing license.
