The Driver at Virtua Health is responsible for transporting materials, patients, and/or employees throughout the system in a safe and timely manner. This role involves maintaining the cleaning and maintenance schedule for the vehicle, ensuring a clean driving record, and adhering to all New Jersey driving laws. The Driver also plays a key role in assisting patients and/or customers on and off the vehicle as needed, loading and unloading materials as required, and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.

  • Ability to create the best possible schedules and route for meeting department objectives.
  • Maintains schedule for routine vehicle service and reports any vehicle malfunctions quickly to supervisor for evaluation and schedules such repair.
  • Maintains a clean vehicle and inspects the vehicle daily to ensure that the vehicle is in proper working order.
  • Performs basic office duties while waiting for patients or downtime.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2 years driving experience.
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Driver's License Abstract must meet Virtua Health's insurance carrier standards.
  • CPR where transporting patients.
  • CDL with appropriate endorsements required for the Mobile Farmer's Market, Mobile Grocery Store and Mobile Pediatrics.

Preferred

  • Defensive driving course preferred.
