  • Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks which include lifting and carrying objects, working in buildings after ventilation systems are shut off, and working above ground level such as on ladders and scaffolding

Incumbents in these positions perform lead work and janitorial services. Janitorial services include dusting, vacuuming, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restroom; maintaining hard floors and carpeting; performing minor equipment maintenance and repair; and all janitorial services necessary to ensure clean, safe and environmentally sound buildings.

Lead worker responsibilities include assisting the supervisor in assigning tasks and monitoring the work of General Maintenance Workers; completing necessary forms and reports; working with tenants to resolve concerns; and ensuring that all applicable work rules, policies, contracts, and state and federal laws (i.e. Occupational Safety and Health Act, American with Disabilities Act, etc.) are followed.

Special Work Conditions: All tasks generate dust. There is frequent lifting of 5-40 pounds, repetitive back and forth movements, bending and stooping, and extensive walking and stair climbing. Tasks require heavy use of arms and wrists, and exertion of upper body, arms and hands to use equipment such as buffers and extractors.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Knowledge of:

**Physical Requirements**

Successful candidate must pass pre-employment physical. **Physical Demands:** Work Performance Testing (WPT). Job involves exerting up to 20-35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 6-20 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move or lift objects.
