  • Managing the equipment maintenance program for our onsite equipment.
  • Oversee internal shop operations.
  • Welding when needed but not required.
  • Maintain parts inventory and ordering.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose repairs and delegate accurate work instructions for repairs when necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of diesel-powered equipment such as Work Trucks and Trailers, Semi-Trucks and Trailers, Forklifts.

Gateway Terminal is a leading terminal on the East Coast strategically located in the Port of New Haven, Connecticut, providing turnkey vertically integrated logistics services for dry bulk, liquid bulk, and breakbulk products.


SUMMARY OF DIESEL MECHANIC POSITION:

Supports operations in installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and diesel mechanical equipment. Locates sources of problems by inspecting, observing, and knowledge and completes needed repairs in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics to determine issues with equipment.
  • Perform mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in the work area.
