Qualifications

Required

  • BLS Provider obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the New York Board of Occupational Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.

Preferred

  • Master's degree preferred.

Hiring Range : $31.31- $40.70

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities: - Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.

- Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.

- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.

- Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

Complexity of Work: - Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment: - Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Required Credential(s): - BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. - Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the New York Board of Occupational Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date..Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.

Education: - Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
