- Administer subcutaneous fluids.
- Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
- Disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
- Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
Qualifications
Required
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
- Minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team goal
- Ability to perform physical exams and accurately count vital signs
- Understanding of normal vital parameters and ability to alert a doctor when abnormal
- Ability to set up and administer intravenous fluids
- Ability to operate intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors
- Ability to disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically
- Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy

**Pay:** $21.00 - $40.50 / hour
**This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system** .
