Services will be delivered to all requesting departments throughout the facility. \nResponsibilities
\n
\n+ Performs proper specimen collection and labeling procedures used for routine and special procedures
\n
\n+ Performs all standard laboratory techniques related to phlebotomy such as correcting patient identification, proper collection of samples (volume, tube type, temperature and/or timing conditions) and collection of specimens for urinalysis, 24-hour urines, toxicology and microbiological (sputum and urine), all defined within the standard operating procedures
\n
\n+ Must accession all specimens in receiving area and ensure timely transport and distribution of specimens to all sections of the laboratory for immediate processing and testing; if unable to deliver samples due to peak workloads, contacts sectional personnel to transport samples
\n
\nQualifications
\n
\n+ High school diploma or equivalent
\n
\n+ Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (i.e. CPT I/II licensing in California)
\n
\n+ Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent)
\n
\n+ American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS)
\n
\n+ Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years as a patient service technician/phlebotomist
\n
\n+ 2-3 years of phlebotomist experience in an acute care setting is preferred
\n
\n+ Proficiency in the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, TestCup, pediatric blood collections, and difficult draws
\n
\n+ No sponsorship available

\nPay Range: $15.43 - $26.45 hourly
\n
\nAll candidates must be able to:
\n
\n+ Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
\n
\n+ Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
\n
\n+ Lift up to 20 lbs
\n
\n+ Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
\n
\n+ Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
\n
