  • Provide leadership to the entire staff for recruitment, training, development, evaluation, motivation, and monitoring.
  • Champion Safety and ensure achievement of the site’s safety objectives

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
  • 5+ years of prior experience managing a site-level P&L.
  • Experience with operational processes and cost-out programs.
  • Sales and or customer management with an emphasis on customer-centricity.
  • Ability to provide oral and written communication to all levels of employees.

Full Job Description

The General Manager has full Plant and P&L responsibilities, including commercial development, price point management, operational cost and efficiency, plant safety, business compliance, and people development.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct, manage, and hold complete P&L responsibility for the plant.
  • Develop a balanced approach to maximizing best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.
  • Drive commercial development within the market both in sales and raw material acquisition. Responsible for managing a comprehensive sales funnel that delivers new business wins in existing and new verticals, as well as lane expansions with existing customers while aligning with the Region's strategic initiatives and the overall business.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies that enable growth and increased profitability through pricing strategies and identifying new segment opportunities.
  • Manage local transportation fleet and ensure compliance and drive efficiencies.
  • The continuous operational improvement includes developing local strategies and implementing actions to overcome inflationary pressures. Understanding and impacting business KPIs on a real-time basis.
  • Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD).
  • Provide leadership to the entire staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activities.
  • Champion Safety and ensure achievement of the site’s safety objectives

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop individuals and teams of hourly and salaried groups
  • 5+ years of prior experience managing a site-level P&L
  • Experience with operational processes and cost-out programs
  • Sales and or customer management with an emphasis on customer-centricity
  • Ability to provide oral and written communication to all levels of employees within the Company
  • Strategic mindset; ability to work in a rapidly changing and growing environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities


WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in a non-climate-controlled environment (within the warehouse) and a climate-controlled office. The worker may occasionally perform off-site tasks that require the use of a personal vehicle or other forms of travel. Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes, and gloves) while in the facilities.
