Responsibilities

  • Paint and install/repair vinyl wall covering and repair wall surfaces prior to application of finishes.
  • Perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance on numerous types of miscellaneous equipment.
  • Operate all components of the utility systems and know the location and function of controls and shut-off, as well as all utility system failure procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • Trade or vocational school graduate.
  • 5 years of experience in various maintenance trades.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • May be in rooms where medications are stored but not allowed to handle medications.

Preferred

  • 2-year college associate degree.
  • Certification in two trades used in the normal operation of the maintenance department.

**Purpose:**

**Responsibilities:**

Performs installation, repair and preventive maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Perform carpentry activities as they relate to either repair, renovation or construction. Perform installation, repair and preventive maintenance of the heating system and associated equipment.

+ Perform maintenance to the grounds including snow/ice removal during the winter season. Transport System equipment and supplies. Operate cars, light trucks and maintenance equipment. Perform security functions when required. Perform testing, calibration, preventive maintenance and repair equipment included in the equipment management inventory according to established policies and procedures.

+ Project a positive image of self and the Hospital when dealing with medical staff, ancillary departments, patients/families, community and others. Practice universal blood/body fluid precautions. Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff,co-workers, supervisors and others.

+ Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally. Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others. Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette. Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions. Promote the hospital's image and maintains a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a health care center. Adhere to department policy and procedure manuals. Demonstrate cost consciousness through efficient use of time, materials, staff, equipment, supplies and available resources. Perform job functions with consideration to thoroughness, accuracy and neatness, effect on patients and others, demonstrating technical knowledge and competence.

Trade or vocational school graduate required. 2-year college associate degree preferred. Certification in two trades used in the normal operation of the maintenance department preferred. Acceptable trades will be determined by the Program Director of Facilities and the Maintenance Management Staff. 5 years of experience in various maintenance trades preferred. Must exhibit superior verbal and written communication skills. May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
