The Lead Operator at Graphic Packaging International, LLC is responsible for directing and coordinating day-to-day shift activities, assisting in production planning, ensuring product quality and production efficiencies meet or exceed standards, and providing leadership and supervision to the shift. Responsibilities

  • Assists Supervisor in production planning, operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Works with Supervisor to make decisions, job assignments and work priorities.
  • Provides Leadership and supervision to designated shift.
  • Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.
  • Ensures that Safety/ housekeeping/ procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed throughout the shift.
  • Conducts performance coaching of individuals for performance related issue for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures completion of all paperwork including end of shift reports, PMs, work orders, and daily management.
  • Provide break relief to other operators, including feeding machines and packing product as needed.
  • Works with department manager to implement cost saving initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2-5 years of machine operating experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including use of tools and industrial machine mechanics
  • Ability to teach and lead others
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred

  • Self-sufficient and cost effectively perform all required cutting functions
  • Extensive knowledge for identification and working knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic components
  • Ability to troubleshoot, adjust and debug to finalize majority of machine lines required in house or at the customers facility
  • Trained and knowledgeable in Mechanical Assembly Standards, Engineering Standards, other applicable procedures and parts flow

**_Job Functions_**

+ Directs and coordinates the day-to-day shift activities as set by area manager and supervisor.

+ Works with Supervisor to makes decisions, job assignments and work priorities

+ Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.

+ Ensures that Safety/ housekeeping/ procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed throughout the shift.

+ Heavy mechanical skills in a manufacturing environment.

**_Required Experience_**

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent

+ 2-5 years of machine operating experience

+ Strong mechanical aptitude, including use of tools and industrial machine mechanics

+ Ability to teach and lead others

+ Basic computer skills
