  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in machining operations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy materials up to 50lbs

Purpose:

The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in the production process by operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to cut and shape wooden pieces used in pallet assembly. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in CNC machining, possibly woodworking, and a keen eye for precision to ensure the highest quality pallets are produced.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and profile wooden components for pallet assembly.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and other accessories for CNC machines.
  • Program CNC machines using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • In partner with the Maintenance Team, conduct regular maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes, to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements:

Technical training or certification in CNC machining.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in a woodworking or manufacturing environment.

Experience in manufacturing highly desirable.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Strong knowledge of CNC programming using CAD/CAM software.
