The MRI Lead Technologist at Northeast Georgia Health System functions as a team leader, directing day-to-day operations of the radiology service line.   • Works with Manager to conduct interviews, orientation, performance evaluations, and disciplinaries for Technologist within modality.
  • Keeps Manager and Director informed of Physician requests or concerns.
  • Holds modality staff meetings monthly with agenda and minutes. Forwards minutes to Manager and Director.
  • Attends modality section meeting with Manager, Director and Chief Radiologist assigned to modality.
  • Reviews and implements productivity standards as required by department. Monitors volumes daily, develops a plan of action with Manager if productivity standards are not met.
  • Assures all exams are complete, billed correctly and sent to PACS as soon as possible.
  • Maintains all accreditation records for area.
  • Seeks and understands new technology of specific modality. Works with Modality Chief to review and implement as approved.
  • Organizes workflow and patient schedules.
  • Routinely assists the manager with annual employee clinical competency assessments and evaluations on assigned staff within modality.
  • Provides input to coaching and monitoring performance for employees in the disciplinary process.
  • Provides recommendations on ways to improve systems and processes.
  • Ensures that staff are clinically trained in all exams and provides audit documentation.
  • Ensures clinical excellence in monitoring chart audits, DNV audits, keeping department safe and DNV compliance.
  • Develops and provides cost reduction ideas and opportunities
  • Provides relief charge support which may include answering spectra phone and trouble-shooting for the shift.
  • Develops clinical education projects to present to the staff

Qualifications

Required

  • Current ARRT licensure
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least three (3) years experience as staff Technologist, preferably within qualifying modality

Preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience

About the Role:

Job Summary

Functions as a team leader to direct day-to-day operations of designated radiology service line. Will serve as a mentor and Educator to all staff. Provides oversight and maintenance for technical and digital imaging. Oversees accuracy for patient charges and maintains productivity measures defined for service line. Must have an excellent knowledge of designated modality. Offers advice and guidance in technical matters. Has responsibility for maintaining accreditation and PI standards. Updates and modifies policy and procedures specific to imaging safety. Responsible for all scheduled procedures and related paperwork. Assists with patients care activities and collaborates with other healthcare team members. This position will care for patients in the adult and geriatric age groups. Collaborates professionally with other departments and physician offices.

Performs duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.



Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Current ARRT

  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
