Full Job Description

**VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency** **Center** is seeking a Full-Time **Veterinary Technician Assistant** to work three 12 hour shifts on our overnight emergency service within our busy and growing 24 hour emergency department located in Norwalk, CT.

**_Schedule_** **_: Thursday - Saturday, 8pm - 8am_**

**Day to day responsibilities of the veterinary technician assistant include** : feeding and caring for dogs and cats, walking dogs, bathing dogs, restraint and handling of dogs and cats for minor procedures, cleaning cages, cleaning and maintaining the hospital premises, cleaning hospital instruments and equipment, restocking supplies, setting up supplies for basic procedures and assisting our doctors and technicians when necessary.

Candidates for this position must be organized, flexible, ability to work independently in addition to being a team player. We manage high caseloads in a fast-paced environment so it is also important that the candidate be able to work efficiently in times of stress.
