Academy for Young Minds (AYM) is seeking an experienced Speech Therapist to join our team and work in one of our brand new, state-of- the-art classrooms in Long Island City, NY.

Job Responsibilitties:

+ Provide appropriate and individualized therapy and interventions to students

+ Collect data on student's progress

+ Assess students' progress to inform continued instruction

+ Support team with the development of social and language skills of their students

+ Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

+ Use Central Reach parent portal

+ Demonstrate professionalism in classroom while adhering to the mission, vision and philosophy of AYM.

+ Prep and clean up therapy space each day

Requirements

+ NYS License as Speech and Language Pathologist

+ NYS TSHH or TSLD Certification

+ Understanding of the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities

+ PROMPT trained

+ Knowledge of NYS Common Core Standards and RTI

+ Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills

+ Excellent organizational and problem solving skills

+ Computer proficiency (e.g., data base, word processing, etc.)
