- Work in small spaces in mechanical rooms and the JSC tunnel system.
- Work with handle tools and ladders.

- Work in one of the utility plants.
- Take electronic readings on equipment, Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors.
- Visually inspect Building pumps: Condensate, Chill Water, and Boiler Feed.
- Start and stop equipment as instructed (Chillers and Pumps).
- Monitor Steam Boilers.
- Open and Close valves as instructed by Chief Operator and works Utility Procedures.
- Do Water analysis of Boiler and Cooling Tower waters.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain required NASA badge.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license.
- Minimum 2 years Plant experience; Chemical or Water plant.
- Must be able to pass the physical and be a member of the Hurricane Ride Out Team (HRT).
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Must be physically fit to perform duties of the position as required.
Preferred
- Prior knowledge of NASA site.
- Experienced with working on government installations.

**Purpose of the position**
Will perform assigned Operator duties as a PAE, an Amentum company, employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center.
**Principal Responsibilities of the Position**
+ Support the safe Operation of the site utilizes at Johnson Space Center ("JSC"), Ellington Field ("EF"), and Sonny Carter Training Facility ("SCTF").
+ Support JSC, EF, and SCTF with utility configuration control.
+ May be required to work in an Operation Call Center.
+ May be required to write work orders.
+ Will be required to work in small spaces in mechanical rooms and the JSC tunnel system.

+ Visually inspects Building pumps: Condensate, Chill Water, and Boiler Feed.
+ Starts and stops equipment as instructed. (Chillers and Pumps)
+ Monitors Steam Boilers.
+ Open and Closes valves as instructed by Chief Operator and works Utility Procedures.
+ Does Water analysis of Boiler and Cooling Tower waters.
**Special Knowledge and Skills**
+ Be able to understand the various piping systems located in building.
+ Have a understand of cooling towers.
+ Have knowledge of Boilers and be able to operate same.
+ Have working knowledge of Pumps and motors.
+ Understand potable water treatment and distribution.
+ Have a working knowledge of refrigeration systems, (Chillers) and be able to operate same.
+ Have working knowledge of refrigeration system and be able to operate.
+ Understand Boiler Chemistry readings and capable of adjusting chemical systems.
