Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon in the pediatric intraoperative phase utilizing AORN and OSA standards of practice.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to meet patients/families' needs in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide customer service for patients/families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Function as a team player and practice open communication with a positive, flexible attitude.
- Assist in meeting departmental goals by participating in quality improvement activities.
- Maintain sterile technique.
- Prepare for each procedure with age-appropriate instrumentation and supplies.
- Utilize physicians' preference cards.
- Pass instrumentation.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology.
- Graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technician school.
- Certification/Licensure: CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
Preferred
- Certification/Licensure: Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (CIS) is preferred.
- CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
