Responsibilities

  • Manages individuals and groups, including first line managers or supervisors.
  • Allocates responsibilities and/or packages of work, including supervisory responsibilities; delegates responsibilities as appropriate and provides support / guidance to the team
  • Guides the staffing, talent identification, performance management and associate development processes for their function.
  • Proactively works to ensure effective working relationships within the team and with those whom the team interacts; partners with key stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Aligns objectives of function with company strategy; ensures goals and priorities are established for the entire functional area and cascaded to all associates.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to develop and implement prioritization criteria in support of the most valuable portfolio work.
  • Works across functions to ensure collaboration for shared goals and influences improvements of complex business and IT processes to enhance company performance.
  • Effectively communicates decisions, plans and priorities at all levels and aligns across teams.
  • Understand industry best practices and challenge the status quo to support continuous improvement.
  • Create strategies to guide the consumption of Cloud (Platform as a Service, Container as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, and Software as a Service) in accordance with security architectures and frameworks.
  • Create governance frameworks for the secure consumption of cloud resources in accordance with security standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Establish risk management practices and participate as a liaison between technology, security, and audit for cloud-related activities.
  • Establish strategies for operationalizing cloud deployed assets, creating patterns for monitoring, asset management, and incident response.
  • Evangelize and guide in the establishment of an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) mindset and supporting organizational model.
  • Advises on options, risks, and impact of changes in the business to ensure long term sustainability.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification required
  • Influences / drives accountability across teams
  • Consultative; leverages effective working relationships to drive strategy
  • Advises others; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values
  • Sensitive and responsive to internal and external needs; maintains a positive attitude, optimizes solutions across teams

Preferred

  • Experience in managing complex IT services
  • Direct experience in the transformation of cloud strategies and their operationalizing execution with governance, and security
  • Workload placement within a multi cloud strategy with well architected framework reviews
  • Comfort with ambiguity and able to independently drive resolution of issues and challenges
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels (employees and leaders); including strong presentation skills
  • Provides technical leadership to an IT operation; ensures metrics and procedures are defined / followed and all agreed service levels are met
  • Proactively evaluates key systems across assigned area and develops, then implement improvements
  • Influences the plans and drives implementation of processes and procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing the performance of automated systems and services
  • Monitors performance and takes corrective action where necessary and in line with policies

Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering The Sr. Manager, Cloud Engineering oversees defining the basic principles and patterns that will help the wider technology organization to use cloud technologies that provide secure, scalable, resilient solutions that foster innovation and speed up velocity. This role will manage different priorities, as well as be able to guide and impact the wider technology organization. The leader should know how organizational models and technology selection affect the cloud solutions' speed, cost, and usability. This leader will work well with technology leaders and engineers to make sure the priorities are clear and to help reduce backlogs when needed. They will use and manage their resources wisely to achieve the goals in an efficient and effective way.


Required Education and Experience :

Physical Requirements:

  • This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs.
