PT - 4-29 1/2 hrs/wk

  1. Responsible for providing supports, supervision, and assistance as outlined in the person’s service plans and as appropriate for the parameters of the program. This may include developing community outings, activities, and events.

  1. Maintain a professional attitude that aligns with the values of the larger organization. This includes demonstrating a positive and caring demeanor towards the person and their family/caregiver.

  2. Responsible for service recipients’ supervision and safety in the home and community, as outlined in protective oversight plans or identified safeguards in site-based programs.
  3. Responsible for maintaining and respecting the confidentiality of the person being supported through the service.

  4. Attends all scheduled meetings and trainings.

  5. Completes required reporting, recording and service documentation for each shift.

  6. Participates in training modules. Applies practices per training and demonstrates knowledge of service standards, rules and regulations.

  7. In a Recreation Respite setting, the Respite Support Professional is responsible for safely transporting, accompanying, supervising, and assisting the person/people receiving supports in the community.

  8. Recognizes and immediately reports any safety concerns, including fire safety, physical environment, vehicles, safety of people, staff or others.

  9. Notifies supervisor when program supplies are needed.

  10. Models expected behavior in the community, at the worksite, and at recreational activities. Maintains professionalism at all times. Adheres to the DSP Code of Conduct.

  11. Responsible for ensuring that all confidential and potentially sensitive information is processed, retained and utilized in a strict and confidential manner.

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Adheres to all agency policies and procedures.

  2. Responsible for displaying sound, ethical judgment and supportive decision making as outlined in the DSP Code of Ethics.

  1. Participates in and provides feedback and recommendations in quality improvement activities for services provided, as well as overall agency systems and processes.

  2. Other duties as assigned.
