- Work in specialized areas such as pharmacy satellites, TPN, Chemotherapy, etc., after training.
Qualifications
Required
- Basic knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology.
- General knowledge of office procedures such as filling and record keeping.
- Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in CCMC pharmacy and gained knowledge in advanced areas or pharmacy experience with one year of hands on IV preparation.
- High School or Equivalent Required.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
- ACPE IV certification required.

To assist pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Childrens Medical Center and the community we serve. The technical tasks will be performed after experience is gained, and necessary skills and competency demonstrated. Documentation of training must be on file prior to working independently.
