JOB SUMMARY: Prepares food for patients, hospital staff and special functions, monitors kitchen staff. Helps plan special functions, menus for the functions and the cafeteria makes menu changes if needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Ability to read and write English, follow oral and written directions and make simple calculations. Culinary Certificate or appropriate job experience.
Licensure/Registration/Certification: Safe Serve or equal sanitation certificate required within six months of hire.
Work Experience: Two years experience as a cook in an institutional setting, healthcare preferred. Culinary School or equal experience.
Physical & Other Factors: Stands and walks on feet most of the day. Must be able to stop, bend and reach, able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to communicate effectively and adhere to State Health Department standards of sanitation.
Work & Environmental Conditions: at times noisy, hot, moist and odorous atmosphere with temperature changes. Floor may be slippery at times.
Job Relationships (Responsible to/for, works with): Responsible to Chef Supervisor and Manager. Works with all other Dietary staff members.
