**This position is 0-1 days in the OR and the rest of the hours on the floor conducting bedside procedures, pre-op and post-op follow-up or new consults.**

**Responsibilities**

Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.

+ Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.

+ Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.

+ Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.

+ Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

**Requirements**

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

+ Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

+ Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

+ Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

+ Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.

+ Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

+ 1 year of experience preferred.
