\nGENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

\nThis job can be full-time with benefits or part-time depending on the applicant's availability to work.
\n
\nSupervise workers engaged in preparing and serving food and beverages. Perform all functions of the service staff in The Class Act and Maikka. This position serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.

\nDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n
\n+ Attend to the needs of hotel, meeting, restaurant and/or bar guests and resolve customer complaints regarding food and beverage service.
\n
\n+ Train workers in food service and beverage preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
\n
\n+ Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
\n
\n+ Control inventories of food, equipment, small ware, and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel.
\n
\n+ Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures in order to ensure quality standards and service.
\n
\n+ Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
\n
\n+ Perform personnel actions such as hiring and disciplining staff, consulting with other managers as necessary.
\n
\n+ Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
\n
\n+ Regular and consistent attendance at work.
\n
\n+ Perform other related work duties as assigned.
\n

\n+ Thorough knowledge of various computer software packages as well as office equipment and operation.
\n

\nPHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

\nPosition involves working in a restaurant and bar setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

\n+ High school diploma or the equivalent required.
\n
\n+ Must be at least 21 years of age.
\n
\n+ Preference will be given to those candidates with a post high school degree.
\n
\n+ Preference will be given to those candidates with a minimum of two years full-time, experience in a related hospitality/beverage setting and 1 year leadership or the equivalent education and related work experience.
