  • Performs pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments.
  • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s individual age specific needs and to provide individualized age specific treatments and care.
  • Demonstrates efficiency across clinical/critical care settings to provide quality service to patient care units through communication, cooperation and collaboration with health care team.
  • Participates in additional training and/or certification courses to develop expertise and skills to become certified to work in specialized clinical areas.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree from an AMA approved Respiratory program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) granted by The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
  • State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner license required
  • BLS certification required

Job Summary
Performs as a clinically competent practitioner of respiratory care. Provides respiratory care to patients with minimal guidance.
Performs the therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities which affect the cardiopulmonary system and associated aspects of other system functions.
