  • Lead teams to execute production efforts so that all products are built to meet customer and internal quality requirements
  • Develop and manage budgets for multiple departments
  • Ensure proper training is conducted, including cross-training
  • Drive a culture of ownership with focus on team performance, cross-functional collaboration, and integrated product teams accountable to organizational needs
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring proper lean manufacturing principals are employed throughout area of responsibility
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting metrics related to performance of key areas

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in operations/manufacturing
  • 5+ years leadership and management experience
  • Background and training in Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to analyze data, review operational metrics, and make meaningful changes to improve operational performance
  • Ability to create strategic plans for multiple operations based on booked and forecasted work
  • Able to balance attention to detail with swift execution
  • Ability to track and manage numerous programs and projects simultaneously
  • Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills

Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Overview:

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security

a. Develop and implement safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with industry standards and regulations

b. Coordinate with government and other regulatory organizations for audits, certifications, etc.

c. Promote a culture of safety awareness and risk mitigation

d. Ensure the security of company employees, facility, equipment, and other property

2. Facilities and Maintenance

a. Maintain facilities and equipment in good working order through preventative maintenance and improvement projects

b. Identify, propose, justify, and manage capital investment projects

3. Production

a. Lead teams to execute production efforts so that all products are built to meet customer and internal quality requirements and delivery targets are achieved

b. Develop and manage budgets for multiple departments

c. Ensure proper training is conducted, including cross-training

d. Drive a culture of ownership with focus on team performance, cross-functional collaboration, and integrated product teams accountable to organizational needs

e. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring proper lean manufacturing principals are employed throughout area of responsibility

4. Reporting and Accountability

a. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting metrics related to performance of the above key areas

b. Reports to the site General Manager

c. Has leadership responsibility over all Production Technicians, Machinists, Maintenance staff, and Scheduling personnel

d. Responsible to develop and improve people within Operations organization through effective management, training, communication and feedback

Qualifications:

- 10+ years or relevant experience in operations/manufacturing with preferred experience in composite structures manufacturing within the Aerospace and Defense Industry

- 5+ years leadership and management experience

- Background and training in Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement

- Ability to analyze data, review operational metrics, and make meaningful changes to improve operational performance

- Ability to create strategic plans for multiple operations based on booked and forecasted work

- Able to balance attention to detail with swift execution
