  • Initiate calls and confirms registry staff personnel as indicated or requested.
  • Directs inquiries and telephone calls to appropriate department/individual.
  • Coordinates staffing for inpatient areas using matrix guidelines and input from Unit Supervisor/Director.
  • Demonstrates ability to interface with all departments to assist them with needed information.
  • Performs clerical functions for the department.
  • Supports the Nursing Director(s)/Shift Administrator(s)/Unit Supervisor(s) with routine procedures such as filing mail distribution typing correspondence and other tasks as requested.

Qualifications

Required

  • A minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of varied clerical experience
  • High school education or equivalent

Preferred

  • Maintains confidentiality of issues as necessary
  • Excellent communication skills and maintains effective public relations with departmental clientele
  • Ability to be an effective team member
  • A thorough knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment, FAX, telephones, copy machines, computer, typewriter, etc.
  • A thorough knowledge of department organization, policies, and procedures as well as a general knowledge of the Medical Center's structure
  • Establish and maintain clerical procedures and standards
  • Work independently and perform a variety of assignments
