The Staff Nurse - LPN at Perdue Farms, Inc. is responsible for administering medical care to associates and others as required or assigned within the scope of nursing practice under the supervision of the nursing supervisor.   • Perform physicals after reviewing history information with associate; complete information on physical form, and other forms as appropriate. Complete termination files; assist with drug screens, TB skin testing, wellness programs, etc. as assigned by nursing supervisor.
  • Assist with medical cost management by early intervention in care of associates with constant follow up; order medical supplies as needed.
  • Assist with administration of medical LOAs under the direction of Nurse/ Wellness Center Supervisor to reduce time away from work, processing of physician's notes.
  • Assist staff with systems for health improvement of associates at the facility, i.e. participation in and support with HIP
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Successful completion of an approved practical nursing program, college program or Associates degree in a related field
  • 5-6 years related work experience
  • Current LPN license in state of practice
  • Current certification in CPR in good standing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Bilingual in either Spanish or Creole

**Summary**

**Minimum Education**

**Experience Requirements**

+ Current LPN license in state of practice

+ Good verbal and written communication skills

This person must be able to see, touch, smell and record findings in writing. Although the majority of work is done in an office/clinic environment, there is also exposure to variable inter-facility and external environmental conditions, such as: noise levels, changes in temperature, humidity, etc. This person must have ability to move throughout the processing plant and the surrounding environments as well as wear PPE as required.

**Experience Preferred**

+ Bilingual in either Spanish or Creole highly preferred

**Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements**

+ Work activity is in an office and in a plant. (May be an open-partitioned, cubicle environment.).

+ Position requires a good bit of walking around, moving to other offices or buildings and through the plant.

+ May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

+ May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment:

+ Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

+ May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

+ May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

+ May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.

+ Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
