Kelly Engineering is seeking a HVAC Service Controls Coordinator to join a leading company in indoor air quality solutions. The role involves diagnosing and repairing complex control system issues, writing and testing software modifications, and providing service and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have a technical associate degree with field experience or an equivalent, and demonstrate knowledge in control theory, building automation systems, and low voltage building subsystems integration.

Responsibilities

  • Review client sequence of operations requirements and assist with interpretation of logic sequence discrepancies. Update or recommend logic corrections as needed to ensure system performance meets client expectations.
  • Assist with diagnostics and repair of controls hardware including controllers, relays, measurement devices, actuators, and associated equipment with mechanical and electrical device systems.
  • Review work orders, blueprints, schematic diagrams and related materials to determine tasks to be performed in commissioning or rework activities.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing challenging jobs with the objective to mitigate the impact on customer’s building/experience while also minimizing the financial burden on the company.
  • Build synergies with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve complex design problems with fielded systems.
  • Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Advise leadership regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of a technical associate degree with two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related field experience in HVAC or building automation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to various job sites or factories for various equipment related work.
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
  • Ability to support multiple teams across various data center projects.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Ability to work independently or drive results across teams in a timely manner.

Preferred

  • Minimum of four years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers for data center environments.
  • Strong administrational experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with the ability to present in a professional manner to data center clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree with four years of field experience or six years of equivalent related field experience in HVAC or building automation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and testing software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.

  • As our Controls Specialist for the Data Center Cooling service team, you will work to diagnose and repair a variety of complex control system issues requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems.
  • You must have the ability to write and test software modifications to optimize equipment performance in data center environments.
  • You will provide service, guidance, and technical expertise to end users, commissioning teams, and sales representatives.
