The University of Rochester is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Physician Assistant to join the URMC Department of Neurosurgery's Division of Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke. - Clearly communicate diagnostic testing results to providers and patients
- Prescribe medications and support patients in pre and post treatment planning
- Educate patients and families about cerebrovascular disease processes and treatment plans
- Updates families about procedural timelines and outcomes
- Document patient care in electronic medical records
- Respond to patient questions and concerns
- Participate in the education of learners (students, new employees, procedural staff), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skills training
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Obtain and maintain certification for Moderate Sedation, BLS, ACLS

+ Applicant must demonstrate excellent communication skills with an ability to make independent decisions in the management of complex stroke and cerebrovascular disease patient care. Extensive on-the-job training will also be provided.
+ Applicant must possess a commitment to providing quality patient care and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experienced PA only.
+ Preferred experience within neurosurgery or the operating room.
+ Current NYS PA license.

This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
