Maintenance Technicians at Second Family Adult Homes Inc are responsible for maintaining the upkeep of home locations and equipment, both independently and as part of a team.   • Ensure maintenance requests and reviewed and completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with moving office, equipment, individuals, etc.
  • Assist with setup for workshops, training, and other special events.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance, including cleaning.
  • Assist with supply pick up, including maintenance materials, household goods, etc.
  • Ensure periodic checks and changes are completed including filter changes, etc.
  • Check facilities to ensure they are in good repair.
  • Ensure grounds are free from litter and debris, includes seasonal maintenance (i.e., raking leaves, removing snow)
  • If necessary, assist staff with lifting and transfer of individuals.
  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour work week and be able to be on-call.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic level knowledge of general maintenance, painting, plumbing, electrical and carpentry work with the expectation of development and growth.
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Participate as a team member in a rapidly changing behavioral health care setting.

Preferred

  • Prior experience working in a group home or relevant experience.
  • Prior experience as a maintenance technician.

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for supervising and maintaining the upkeep of home locations and equipment. This person will work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills are critical.

Additional Functions

  • Frequently required to reach with hands/arms, repetitive: stoop, kneel, bend/twist, push and pull.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Regularly required to lift/transfer varied weight limits up to 50lbs.
  • Required to utilize general and specialized equipment.
  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour work week and be able to be on-call.

  • Monday – Friday 9am – 5:00pm and flexibility to work some weekends and after normal business hours
