**Position Summary**

The purpose of this position is to manage the estimating function in the Sales Branch to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services by performing the following duties.

**Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities**

+ Supervises an estimating team. Works Branch Manager to interview and hire appropriate candidates, train and develop estimating skills, evaluate performance, and discipline employees to correct performance discrepancies and policy violations.

+ Reviews plans and other data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists. May require consultation with Application Engineer.

+ Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

+ Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.

+ Computes cost factors and trends. Prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.

+ Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies; provide improvement recommendations.

**Qualifications and Skill Requirements**

+ Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in project or construction management plus 3 - 5 years of related experience in commercial glazing, commercial construction, residential construction, building facade or architectural aluminum industry with at least one year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
