\nHigh School Diploma required.

\nOne year of experience in an office support environment.
\n
\nFormal secretarial or office management training in lieu of experience may be substituted for experience.

\nMust have demonstrable computer skills.
\n
\nProficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills
\n
\nMust be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
\n
\nMust possess organizational and time management skills.
\n
\nStatement of Job:
\n
\nUnder direct supervision, performs a variety of office, secretarial and/or administrative support for the Early Childhood Services program. The EC Administrative Assistant 1 performs a varied and complex array of administrative support functions, and may be responsible to coordinate certain departmental activities.
\n
\nResponsibilities:
\n
\nPrepare and manage correspondence, reports and documents that may be confidential in nature.
\n
\nOrganize and coordinate meetings and conferences.
\n
\nMaintain schedules and calendars.
\n
\nGreet and direct visitors; accept, screen and route telephone calls.
\n
\nCommunicate verbally and in writing to answer general inquiries concerning activities and operations for the Early Childhood Services program.
\n
\nEstablish, maintain, process and update files, records and other materials.
\n
\nOrder departmental supplies.
\n
\nSort and distribute incoming mail.
\n
\nPrepare photocopies, faxes, and operate a variety of office equipment.
\n
\nOther duties as assigned
\n
\nEssential Physical Demands:
\n
\nMust be able to lift/move, push and pull objects up to 10-15 lbs.
\n
\nMust be able to pull/retrieve/re-file charts.
\n
\nMust be able to sit and use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel.
\n
\nMust be able to communicate via telephone.
\n
\nMust be able to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, twist and bend.
\n
\nMust be able to sit for up to two (2) hours at a time.
\n
\nMust be able to use all office equipment in use in the assigned office.
\n
