Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of software or machine learning engineering experience building algorithms for business application at scale.
  • Extensive experience with Python and SQL for data science, machine learning, and software development e.g. PyTorch, LightGBM, FastAPI
  • Experience leading development and deployment of machine learning- and data-based forecasting solutions in production.

Preferred

  • Experience with a variety of causal inference methods
  • Experience in professional software development
  • Experience with generative deep learning models

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with a strong machine learning background to lead the development of frameworks that deepen understanding of engagement at Twitch. Bringing to bear a mixture of model development and software engineering skills, you will lead the development and deployment and of several of Twitch's core growth forecasting models, use data-driven methods to answer business questions, and deliver insights to deepen understanding of viewers and creators on Twitch. Reporting to the Head of Finance, Analytics, and Business Operations, your team will be located in San Francisco. While there is a preference for the San Francisco Bay Area, we are open to this role operating remotely within the U.S.

You Will:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
