The Vascular Sonographer at Guthrie is responsible for performing non-invasive vascular testing on peripheral vessels. Responsibilities

  • Know the vascular system, diseases, and symptoms.
  • Perform ultrasound testing on the carotid and peripheral arteries, veins, and abdominal vasculature.
  • Recognize abnormal findings and report them to the Technical Director or Vascular Surgeon reading.
  • Properly prepare results for interpretation within an approximate time period.
  • Responsible for proper cleaning of equipment between patients.
  • Responsible for proper calibration of equipment on a regular basis.
  • Promote the Guthrie Clinic and the Vascular Department in a professional manner, participate in monthly staff meetings, assist in orientation of new employees, and demonstrate willingness to accept non-routine work assignments.
  • Accept responsibility for completion of all annual mandatory training (OSHA, compliance, etc.) and attending Coding classes within one year of employment.
  • Assist in smooth departmental operations by filling in for other members of the vascular ultrasound staff, answer vascular lab related phones, schedule add on studies as necessary.
  • Travel between worksites and unloading equipment at work sight.
  • Responsible for knowing emergency numbers and how to respond accordingly.
  • Must possess excellent communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Registry eligible for RVT through ARDMS or CCI.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Associate degree.

Full Job Description

This position is offering up to $15,000 in Siging Bonus for external candidates!

Position Summary:

Perform non‐invasive vascular testing on peripheral vessels. The Incumbent must be able to travel to other Guthrie Clinic offices in New York and Pennsylvania, when required.

Education, License & Cert:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

Incumbent should hold or be Registry eligible for RVT through ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International). CPR training required within six‐months of hire. Registry eligible candidates must sit for and pass registry within six (6) months of hire.

Experience:

Twelve months of full‐time clinical ultrasounds/vascular experience is preferred. This position will involve some travel and a valid driver's license is also required.

Other Duties:

1. Assist in smooth departmental operations by filling in for other members of the vascular ultrasound staff, answer vascular lab related phones, schedule add on studies as necessary. Late day technician is expected to stay in clinic until all patients have been taken care of unless physician states otherwise.

2. Travel between worksites and unloading equipment at work sight.

3. Responsible for knowing emergency numbers and how to respond accordingly

4. Must possess excellent communication and computer skills.

5. Other duties as assigned.
