  • Able to help figure out and build the playbook rather than relying on executing an existing, well-defined playbook
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for creator-oriented tools in video, audio, and AI
  • Knowledge of the media creation process inside of companies

Descript is looking for a passionate and driven Account Executive to join our team. As an early sales hire, you will play a pivotal role in creating a scalable and repeatable sales playbook, driving growth, and shaping our sales initiatives. Your work will be instrumental in driving our growth.

You are a proactive go-getter, deeply passionate about the creative and technical aspects of business video solutions. Above all, you are a thoughtful salesperson, who thrives in engaging business-level conversations with content creators, marketing professionals, and technical users.
What You'll Do
  • Develop outbound prospecting strategies to identify and create opportunities
  • Own the full sales cycle from "lead sourced" to "deal closed"
  • Run product demos and engage in both technical and business-level conversations across multiple levels of the organization
  • Drive executive-level relationships with our Enterprise segment of prospects and customers
What You Bring
  • Ability to understand a technical product and develop crafty solutions
  • Experience in a quota-carrying Sales role : From researching a prospect and responding to inbound leads, providing strong demos, negotiation and closing a deal
  • Tenacious and curious attitude with your approach to prospecting, building your own pipeline, and sales strategy. You're not afraid of making a cold call and are excited about having creative outreach to stakeholders of various levels
  • You're able to help figure out and build the playbook rather than relying on executing an existing, well-defined playbook. You're able to deal with ambiguity in a scrappy manner
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for creator-oriented tools in video, audio, and AI
  • Knowledge of the media creation process inside of companies

The total compensation range for this role is $138,000 - $190,000/year. Equity is accounted for separately. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location, and may vary from the amount above.
