The Direct Support Staff at Positive Care is responsible for providing companion sitting or direct support and related services to individuals in their homes.   • Minimum of two years of recent experience in a health related field, day program services, home health care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Above average communication skills: oral and written
  • Reliable transportation and willing to transport individuals as needed
  • Able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Willing to write/type documentation
  • Familiar with Therap documentation system
  • Creative and willing to think outside the box
  • Effective decision making ability
  • Able to work cooperatively with individuals and their family
  • Able to follow procedures and emergency protocol
  • Willing to complete FBI- Background check and TB test/Physical
  • Possess valid driver's license and insurance

Preferred

  • CNA/ PCT certification

Qualifications

  • CNA/ PCT certification preferred but not required
  • Must be familiar with and previously trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of RECENT experience in a health related field,day program services, home health care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Must be able to provide references and contacts of previous employers.
  • Above average communication skills: orally and written
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to transport individuals as needed
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Must be willing to write/type documentation
  • Must be familiar with Therap documentation system

  • Must possess valid driver's license and insurance and willing to provide a Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Must be willing and able to follow ALL COVID-19 guidelines in accordance to recommendations from the CDC and the policies of GA DBHDD

THIS IS A PART-TIME WEEKDAY POSITION

HOURS ARE MONDAY-FRIDAY 4 PM-8 PM

PAY IS 15.25 /hr
