  • Program CNC machinery for materials and operation
  • Plan exacting and fairly difficult set ups and perform a broad range of operations, utilizing lathes and mutli-cut tooling on a wide variety of large, complicated and expensive castings, forgings and stock of parts to close tolerances and relationships to stepped diameters, shoulders, recesses and formed sections for custom or standardized products
  • Select tools, speeds, feeds and devise tooling for varying materials and conditions
  • Replace or sharpen dull tools
  • Promptness, follow work schedule
  • Cleanup of work area and shop as needed or directed

Job Title: MACHINIST

Location: Orlando, FL

Shifts: 2nd

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Run a variety of equipment to machine components, to blueprint specifications, and parts which are built to WestRock\u2019s high standards on the premises.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED

Successfully complete and efficiently perform all functions of the proceeding grade. Read and understand manufacturing drawings or blueprints.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work safely, follow all safety practices

* Operate, change over and adjust and perform a broad range of operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, facing, turning and chamfering on materials to close tolerances using lathes and/or automatic CNC machinery.

* Program CNC machinery for materials and operation.
