Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and 12-hour shifts.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot 110 VAC, 240/480 VAC 3 phase.
  • Knowledge and ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Skilled at operating welding/brazing equipment, lathes, milling machines, and other shop equipment.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb ladder/scaffolds, and work in tight spaces.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to recognize or detect equipment malfunctions and warning devices/signs.

Full Job Description

This is for a night shift position 7pm-7am, 4 days a week, 12-hour shifts.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Makes repairs as needed.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot 110 VAC, 240/480 VAC 3 phase.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist in ensuring that machine and production area are kept neat, clean and organized during operation.

  • Familiarize self with and conform to all Food Safety Regulatory Program Policies.
  • Familiarize self with and ensure personnel comply and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices Handbook (GMP) policies when applicable.

Requirements

  • Should be skilled at operating welding/ brazing equipment, lathes, milling machines and other shop equipment.
  • Must have experience in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVPC, and pneumatic systems.
  • Must have ability to routinely and frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb ladder/ scaffolds, often required to work in tight, cramped spaces.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and possess motor skills enabling mobility and quick reflexes, as well as dexterity in ceiling height areas.
  • Must have visual/hearing ability sufficient to recognize or detect equipment malfunctions and warning devices/ signs.
