The Assistant Nurse Manager, Labor and Delivery at NYU Langone Health is responsible for providing clinical leadership and management for a designated shift for a patient care unit.   • Communicates significant patient care issues, family concerns, safety, risk management concerns and critical events to leadership.
  • Participates in the drafting of nursing and organizational policy, engaging front-line staff.
  • Supports data collection and analysis to drive practice changes that integrate quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity metrics.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
  • Certification in nursing leadership required upon eligibility
  • Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes
  • Evidence of excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities

Preferred

  • Master's degree in nursing or health-related area
  • Two, or more, years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Nurse Manager, Labor and Delivery, Evening Shift.

In this role, the successful candidate Provides clinical leadership and management for a designated time-period (shift) for a patient care unit (or clinical service in operative and ambulatory settings), consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, departments of nursing, unit, or program. Assists the nurse manager to develop and sustain an environment of excellence in patient/family service, growth and development of staff, and to apply evidence-based practice to improve patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
Certification in nursing leadership required upon eligibility.
Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators.
Evidence of excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills.
Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities. Required to handle and move reasonably heavy weight.

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS, Basic Life Support Cert

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing or health-related area
Two, or more, years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $98,155.51 - $150,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
