The Business Development Specialist at CNB provides business development support to Senior Investment Consultants by identifying qualified independent Financial Advisors and CPAs who provide financial investment advice to high net worth clients. This role involves introducing these professionals to CNR Private Investment Counseling Service, assisting in developing a network of potential prospects, and supporting the closing and finalizing of business opportunities. Responsibilities

  • Proactive efforts to establish contact with targeted FAs and CPAs using all means of communications, including phone, attendance at meetings and seminars, and responding to incoming inquiries
  • Interact with Bank Colleagues and make ongoing calls to introduce banking services to FA's and CPA's
  • Collect and organize incoming client investment statements as submitted by independent FA
  • Determine the appropriate portfolio structure for specific client circumstances
  • Develop persuasive marketing materials and present with the SIC to the FAs and CPAs
  • Communicate with FA to determine investment objective of client
  • Review analysis and proposals with FA's over the phone and in person
  • Initiate the proposal process by performing analysis to determine the appropriate structure of the proposal
  • Review draft proposal with FA prior to presentation by SIC
  • Assist in the transition of new client assets from SIC to PM team
  • Attend PM strategy meetings and provide input on marketing and sales objectives

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in investment sales and/or internal sales support
  • 3 to 5 years of experience using basic software programs like Word, Excel, Power Point, etc
  • FINRA Series 7: General Securities Rep

Preferred

  • Completion of or pursuit of CFA designation
  • MBA or both

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Are you a self-motivated financial professional looking to build your career in an entrepreneurial environment and help make a sales impact? City National Rochdale, a specialized high-net-worth investment manager, is looking for a persuasive communicator that has the drive and persistence needed to deliver new Financial Advisor introductions while building their career in financial services sales and business development
As a dedicated and self-motivated professional, you will be a key contributor to developing new relationships with Independent Financial Advisors by articulating how CNR’s unique value proposition benefits both Advisors and their clients
Your responsibilities will include prospecting new advisors through outbound calling and email campaigns with the goal of qualifying the advisor and introducing them to the local sales team to close new business
In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with a range of departments where you will learn various aspects of the business that will enable you to represent the firm’s capabilities in ways that are accurate and compelling
What you will do Use various prospecting methods, such as outbound calling and email campaigns to reach out to potential leads Educate financial advisors on the benefits of outsourcing their investment management to our firm, including access to a team of experienced professionals and a wide range of investment products and services Conduct initial consultations with interested advisors to assess their needs and determine if our firm is a good fit for their business Follow up with leads to nurture relationships and convert them into clients Introduce interested Advisors to local Sales team and facilitate warm hand-off
Collaborate with local sales team to ensure any follow-ups handled in a timely and accurate manner to increase conversion rates
Provide reporting to senior management Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor offerings in order to effectively position our firm in the marketplace Must-Have* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 3 to 5 years of experience in investment sales and/ or internal sales support 3 to 5 years of experience using basic software programs like Word, Excell, Power Point, etc
FINRA Series 7: General Securities Rep Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of the financial services industry and investment management practices Demonstrated skill set/capabilities in sales, marketing, client experience, business development, analytics, and CRM Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of leads effectively Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets Self-confidence, self-accountability, self-learning, and self-motivation High energy, strong spirit, emotional resiliency Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to pay close attention to details as well as have a strategic big-picture mindset Positive attitude with eagerness to learn Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as independently Compensation Starting base salary: $71,825 - $114,734 per year

This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions
