Responsibilities

  • Develops effective manufacturing processes by evaluating product requirements and designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment to ensure desired results
  • Apply industry knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, and tooling, and materials and collaborate with production associates
  • Identify and resolve process operating problems, investigate equipment failures, draft follow-up action reports, and share technical assistance with workers on the floor
  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during manufacturing process
  • Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering staff as well as outside contractors to improve equipment care, services, repairs, and work practice
  • Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow while optimizing space and equipment layout
  • Identify new and creative solutions to resolve complex issues during the manufacturing process
  • Handle additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams/schematics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is able to succeed with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
