Responsibilities

  • Manage processes and personnel to conduct quality assurance of a Pension Administration system.
  • Support testing of all data bridging scenarios during the transition from legacy to new pension administration system.
  • Identify the scope of testing required for a particular release based on requirements.
  • Identify testing effort required by calculating sizing for the given release and plan required effort.
  • Monitor test progress, assess work assigned to each resource, and re-balance or re-allocate as required.
  • Check for any delays in achieving schedule and hold discussions with testers to resolve issues.
  • Prepare software defect tracking and report status to stakeholders.
  • Prepare Risk Mitigation plans for any foreseen delays.
  • Bridge gaps and differences between the Testing team and Management.
  • Plan knowledge transfer sessions for test resources.
  • Ensure QA Process and Procedures are followed.
  • Participate and prepare continuous improvement plans.
  • Create a conducive environment for maximum throughput among test resources.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years as a QA Test Lead
  • 6 years of hands-on QA experience on different platforms such as API, Web, and Mobile applications
  • 4 years of experience in leading multiple projects or applications
  • Strong knowledge on QA process and procedures
  • Experience with test automation tools
  • Experience testing complex enterprise applications involving Legacy systems
  • Experience in legacy system migration projects
  • Experience with API and Web Services testing

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a QA Test Lead for a 100% remote position in New York, NY. The position will be 100% remote and candidates should reside in the EST time zone. Position: The QA Test Lead will manage processes and personnel to conduct quality assurance of a Pension Administration system which includes 32 separate functional work streams with complex and diverse use cases and scenarios. The QA Test Lead will need to support the testing of all the data bridging scenarios that will be adopted in the course of the transition from legacy system to new pension administration system. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years of recent experience as a QA Test Lead

+ Minimum 6 years of hands on QA experience on different platforms such as API, Web and Mobile applications.

+ Minimum of 4 Years of experience in leading multiple projects or multiple applications.

+ Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams in a dynamic, fast environment.

+ Experience identifying and defining project scope, understand technical specifications and setup test environment, set clear goals and expectations, manage multiple priorities, prioritize activities, maintain multiple priorities, facilitate the collection of technical, operational or business requirements, set milestones and follow through to successful completion.

+ Strong knowledge on QA process and procedures.

+ Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet deadlines

+ Ability to work independently and manage the team.

+ Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

+ Proficiency in analyzing business and functional documents.

+ Experience in STLC and Defect Life Cycle.

+ Candidate will be required to prepare effort estimation and lead all aspects of testing.

+ The candidate must have a certain level of business acumen coupled with technical knowledge.

+ Experience working with test automation tools.

+ Proven ability to simulate and execute integrated and isolated tests to analyze results, leveraging CRUD operations on large volumes of raw data using SQL.

+ Experience working in various SDLC processes including Agile.

+ Experience supervising a team, reporting status to higher management, creating defect reports with resolutions.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem resolution and customer service.

+ Expertise with MS-Office specifically Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

+ Identify the scope of the testing required for a particular release based on the requirements of the document.

+ Identify the testing effort required by calculating the sizing needed for the given release and plan the required effort for the same.

+ Identify if Automation, Performance, Load, API, cross browser testing is required and manage the effort.

+ During the Testing Cycle, monitor the test progress by constantly assessing the work assigned to each of the resources and re-balance or re-allocate them as required.

+ Check if there might be any delays in achieving the schedule and hold discussions with testers to figure out the issues that they may be facing and strive hard to resolve them.

+ Present the timely status to the stakeholders & management and instill confidence about the work being done.

+ Prepare software defect tracking and report status to stakeholders.

+ Prepare any Risk Mitigation plans, if any delays are foreseen.

+ Bridge any gaps and differences between the Testing team and the Management in order to form a clean two-way interface channel.

+ Plan knowledge transfer sessions if required, to the team members for the tools that they would use.

+ Figure out what skills are required and balance the test resources accordingly. Also, identify if there are any skill gaps and plan for training & education sessions for the identified test resources.

+ Ensure that QA Process and Procedures are followed.

+ Participate and prepare continuous improvement plans.

+ Create fun and conducive environment for all the resources to make sure they have maximum throughput.
